Elon Musk and TELEGRAM owner Pavel Durov have reached an agreement on integrating the LLM neural network Grok into the messenger's applications. Both hinted at this on the X social network, stating that the deal is not yet confirmed but only formalities remain. If the deal goes through, which could happen as early as this summer, TELEGRAM will receive $300 million in investments from xAI and half of the subscription revenue to xAI via the Telegram messenger.
Such integration would add rich functionality to Telegram. Grok would be able to summarize conversations, generate reply suggestions, monitor and moderate posts in channels, create personalized stickers and avatars, fact-check news, and answer questions directly in the messenger's search bar.
One of the features of this integration may be real-time access to Telegram via the X social network, which would significantly expand the capabilities of both platforms’ users.
According to insiders, the partnership between TELEGRAM and xAI is expected to last for one year. What happens after that is unknown. If the initiative is implemented successfully and with high quality, the 1 billion active Telegram users and 550 million active X users will gain tremendous new functionality and possibilities, significantly increasing the popularity of both platforms.
